NORTHERN IRELAND MILK CUP 2012
30th EDITION TOURNAMENT
Arrival Date: Friday 20th July 2012 (All teams to arrive not later than 4:00 pm at their accommodation).
Competition Date: Saturday 21st July to Thursday 26th July 2012
Welcome Ceremony Sunday 22nd July at 7:00pm
Departure Date: Friday 27th July 2012
Entry Fee: £100 UK Sterling per team with application
A Deposit of £2000 by 3rd April 2012 (Teams not having paid this deposit will not be included in the draw).
Remainder by 20th July 2011
Age Groups: Junior Section: Players born on or after 1st January 1997
Premier Section: Players born on or after 1st January 1995
Elite Section: Players born on or after 1st January 1993
NB Elite Section for National Teams by Invitation Only
Teams can register maximum of 18 players.
Tournament Structure (24 teams in Premier & Junior Sections):
Each team will play THREE qualifying games, one on Saturday 21st July, one on Monday 23rd July and one on Tuesday 24th July. Points will be awarded 3 for a win, 1 for a draw and none for a defeat. On the basis of points gained, teams will be ranked 1 to 24 and the following will take place:
Teams placed 1 to 4 will play in the Semi Finals of the MILK CUP
Teams placed 5 to 8 will play in the Semi Finals of the MILK CUP GLOBE
Teams placed 9 to 12 will play in the Semi Finals of the MILK CUP VASE
Teams placed 13 to 16 will play in the Semi Finals of the MILK CUP BOWL
Teams placed 17 to 20 will play in the Semi Finals of the MILK CUP SALVER
Teams placed 21 to 24 will play in the Semi Finals of the MILK CUP SHIELD
Semi Finals are played on Wednesday 25th July and Finals on Thursday 26th July
Teams defeated on Thursday will play 3rd and 4th place matches on Thursday 26th July
If teams finish level on points after the three Qualifying games, additional criteria will be used to separate these teams; these criteria will be explained fully in the Tournament Rules, which will be sent out to all participants.
In the event of only 22 teams competing, the bottom six teams will play a two match mini League on Thursday and Friday.
Games last 60 minutes (Junior Section), 70 minutes (Premier Section) and 90 minutes (Elite Section).

TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS:
The Tournament Committee will provide transport for teams to and from ship, air and rail terminals on their arrival in Northern Ireland and transport to and from Milk Cup games, training and events. Sightseeing and other excursions can also be arranged. Teams are responsible for their own travelling arrangements to and from Northern Ireland. Teams arriving at Republic of Ireland terminals will be charged a contribution of £600 towards the cost of a coach to Northern Ireland and the return to the Republic of Ireland. There are 3 airports serving Northern Ireland viz Belfast International, George Best Belfast City Airport and City of Derry Airport. All major airlines including low cost, no frills airlines serve these airports.
ACCOMMODATION, MEALS AND TRANSPORT (within Northern Ireland).
Accommodation is organised through the Milk Cup Committee and no participating teams may make their own arrangements. Accommodation can be obtained in one of two categories. These range from University accommodation, guest house, through to different graded hotels. All accommodation is of a high standard and is organized by the Organizing Committee. Requested accommodation will be subject to availability.
UK Based Teams:
Band 1: £50 per person per day plus VAT (20 %)
Band 2: £55 per person per day plus VAT (20 %)
Teams from outside UK:
Band 1: £60 per person per day including VAT (20 %)
Band 2: £66 per person per day including VAT (20 %)
In hotel accommodation, there will be a single room supplement.
The above costs include three meals a day (breakfast, main substantial meal and one other meal) from Evening Meal on Friday 20th July until breakfast Friday 27th July 2011. Teams requiring extra meals and /or drinks must make arrangements themselves through the appointed Milk Cup Courier with the hotel on their arrival and these extra meals and / or drinks must be paid for, direct to the hotel before leaving Northern Ireland.

The Committee of the Northern Ireland Milk Cup wishes to ensure that all young people participating in the Tournament do so in an enjoyable and safe environment in which they have fun and feel valued. We aim to promote a safe environment for all young people and to assist all staff, officials, coaches and volunteers to respond appropriately should they have any concerns about the welfare of any young person. 2012 Elite Winners - Mexico
Goalkeeper Richard Sanchez said: "We have enjoyed this very much. The time we have spent here has been a lot of fun and we love to come to tournaments like this to show there is talent in Mexico."
2012 Premier Winners - Desportivo
Newcastle Boss Dave Watson said after the game "We came up against a very good side and we didn't play as well as we can. However, it's been a great experience for us and we'll look back and learn from it."
2012 Junior Section Winners - Brentford
Brentford caused a major upset as they proved too strong for Everton in the Junior Section final. The London Bees were seen as outsiders up against last year's champions Everton.
1991 Premier Winners - Man Utd
A pic of the famous 1991 Manchester United side - featuring Beckham, Butt, Scholes, Savage, Gillespie & Neville to name a few! They make up only a few of a large list of superstar players to have participated in the Milk Cup.
